First off, I’m honored that you even clicked on this page because that means you want to know more about me!
Alright. Let me break it down for you…
Husband: If you haven’t already figured it out, I am loved by the handiest man on the planet and together we designed and crafted an insanely awesome little man, Caleb. I joined Ryan in his business in 2015 and it’s been such a fun, crazy ride. I know what you’re thinking so I’ll say it for you: “She works with her husband??”. Yep! It definitely has it’s challenges, but it’s rewards far greater outweigh the negative. I first met him when I needed a hand with an overwhelmingly destroyed flipper house I bought, and at some point he stopped charging me for his time and started making me dinner instead. He’s a contractor and I do design and we fit like 2 peas in a pod…well now make that 3.
On September, 21st, 2015 my life was changed forever. I never imagined the feelings that would consume me when I became a mother for the first time. I’m smitten, I’m exhausted. I’m head over heels at every crooked smile, I’m drained. I knew I was a selfish human before I had Caleb…but afterwards, that selfish fact wakes me up every morning. Being new to motherhood, I do not claim to know anything about being a great parent. Everyday has it’s challenges and everyday has it’s rewards. All you new momma’s out there, I want to be your friend! No seriously, we need to stick together. I will NOT judge you. But… I might try to trip you if you tell me your baby has been sleeping through the night since you brought him home from the hospital. (Just lie to me.) Nicknames so far for Caleb are, “Mr.” , “Mr. Chunk”, “Kabeeb” and so forth. Clearly, our Mr. has changed our lives, and I will not apologize for the insane amount of baby photos I will post on my blog posts.
I have been raised in 3 different countries, but I spent the majority of my years living in the great Amish county where I live today; Lancaster Pennsylvania. I’ve always considered myself an extrovert and I thrive in environments where people are gathered, especially when it involves a fun game. I’m notoriously known for running at least 5 minutes late for any occasion. Honestly, I dislike the fact that I’m tall and skinny and I greatly despise my nose. I was born with a desire to make and appreciate all things beautiful. When I’m feeling inspired I might paint or sketch, but these days I’m dabbling in teaching myself photography. My love to travel in deep in my roots. When I was 5, my parents left Israel and moved back to Lancaster, to only move to Venezuela the following year. I also spent my 9th grade year abroad in South America and although I never became fluent in Spanish, I would kill to to learn it again. Because I never found school entertaining enough for me, I skipped the collage route and headed straight for Y.W.A.M. in Hawaii (Y.W.A.M. is a volunteer missionary organization) and stayed involved for 3 years. And today, I still have much of that travel bug in me, but raising a family and making a living is taking precedent. Adulting at its finest.
I am where I am today because of Him. I can’t deny that. He has been good to me and I don’t deserve the blessings in the life that I live. I am not ashamed to speak His name and sing his praises because He loved me first. I won’t use my blog to “shove religion down your throat” but I may say “Hallelujah” and “Amen” a few times…AMEN!
That’s me in a nut shell!
So are we friends yet?? (You should probably let me know by subscribing.)
