Wait, WHAT? Did you just say you haven’t heard of Amber Interiors?
Shame shame. Well,NOW you have. And you will thank me. Her effortlessly simple, colorful and minimalistic approach to design will entice you. Maybe you’ll see these photos below and even recognize that you have pinned a handful of her work already!
Right?? I love her. Her work inspires me! She is based out of California. (obvi!) She started out small, but now owns her own design firm with a talented set of gals who give E-design consultations and even own their own online shop. DREAMY! They specialize in high-end redesign and although that is WONDERFUL, not all of us are there, yet… **Hand raised high** And that, my friends, is why I am featuring this post! Lets be honest. I am from Lancaster county, and I will always find a way to get the best look for at the best price. And if shopping around for the best price doesn’t give you some insane amount of joy, clearly something is wrong with you. (Just kidding…but seriously)
Now since you’re sold on how awesome Amber Interiors work is, let’s get a little amber our homes! I’ve listed it in 8 SUPER simple steps. You CAN’T mess this up.
$$ 20.00- 35.00 If your walls are white or a light shade already, then you’ve got a head start to owning this Amber Interiors thing. Her choice for clean walls helps minimize your eye bouncing from object to object. So, first money saver tip, grab a gallon of white paint! White paint for your walls and white semi gloss for your trim! I always suggest Benjamin Moore.
THREE. $$ Choose a vibrant and cheerful rug! (Another trending term would be Vintage Kilim (or Kilem) Rugs. Here’s where it can definitely get expensive, yet I often find great deals on rugs all over the internet, i.e. Etsy and Ebay and Amazon for as little as $28.00! Don’t be afraid to check out your local flea market or antique store either. I don’t, however, find rugs in this specific colorful and fun patterns at Home Goods or TJ Maxx where I looove to shop. Not yet at least.
FOUR. $- $$$ Gold and Black hardware. This ones a tough one to price out, because obviously you can find gold accent pieces in any price! You just need to decide where it’s smart to use them. You will not need to go overboard nor obsess over being ‘matchy matchy’ (that’s a term, right?) Get creative with shelves, mirror frames, and plant holders! (And it doesn’t need to be gold, copper is fun!) Lucky for you, I found a great post all from TARGET below!
FIVE. The Basket. $- $$$ Yes, you probably already have a few of these in your home already! Fantastic. Try incorporating a little something else woven or wicker into your decor. Like this tray, this ottoman, or these chairs! But the authentic goodness only can come from Africa. (Plus, buying from here will make you feel proud of your purchase!)
FIVE. Incase you don’t already have this whole Amber Interiors thing figured out by now… lets talk ’bout ART. Art is absolutely my favorite. I love the way she consistently chooses art work that features the ocean. I instantly feel warmer the minute I look at a photo of light blue water, don’t you? Now why wouldn’t you want that in your home? Don’t forget a white matted frame to go along! Shop here!
SIX. $$ Throws, Pillows and Blankets! Staying consistent to Amber’s colorful, vintage, bold pattern style, I suggest the following at a great price point. You are, AH welcome.
…I could do that all day.
SEVEN. $$ White Ceramic ANYTHING. Sorry I’m not being more specific. Again, we can be creative here, folks! Like a vase, a plant pot, a lamp, decorative shelf stuff like this awesome elephant. This tumbler, these nifty guys… I think you get the idea. If I were you, I’d head over to my local TJ MAXX to hunt for this stuff.
EIGHT. $$$ Make it mid-century! I purposely choose to include this last, because it will be the most costly upgrade. Unless you have an awesome aunt who is just now getting rid of her table from the fifties, or you just happen to find THE BEST mid-century find on your local craigslist. But if you know where to shop online and sign up for the sales, these are the guys I swear by:
WOW, that was fun! I’d LOVE to hear your comments and thoughts! AND since it IS christmas after all, go ahead and add some of theses lovelies to your wish list! “Oh hey husband, if you don’t know what to get me for Christmas this year…”
Yo! If you dig Amber Interiors as much as I do, we should be friends…and go shopping together…like now.
